Guide d'utilisation des huiles végétales

Which vegetable oils for massage?

"After all these years of touch therapy as a massage therapist, I thought it would be interesting to reveal to you the importance of choosing the oils that make up a massage base. Just as a writer appreciates a pen that fits well in their hand and whose nib glides easily across the paper, the choice of oil or vegetable oils used in treatment is of similar importance."

Rebecca Balsacq, massage therapist

Neutral Base Oil: the balance of three quality oils

A balance of three oils is a good compromise for combining their therapeutic properties with the results they provide on and through the skin. Thus, Essences Naturelles Corses offers a Base Oil composed of three natural treasures, whose synergy provides an exceptional feel to the touch.

Our thought process was to combine three vegetable oils with strong characteristics, in order to ensure a prolonged effect on the vital energy of the body and mind.

According to Ayurvedic medicine (the oldest form of medicine), vegetable oils carry messages and are beneficial for balancing the body's humors. Depending on the nature of the vegetable oil used, one of the basic constitutions, or humors, called "doshas," will be targeted. To briefly name them, they are Pitta, Vata, and Kapha.

Generally, everyone has a variable mixture of the 3 doshas, depending on what they are going through in their life.

  • Coconut Oil

One of my favorites, unique and so enveloping, provided certain proportions are respected... It is deodorized so as not to overpower its counterparts.

Organic Coconut oil has a particular tropism for calming active and jovial people who tend to experience periods of stress or emotional instability due to often expending a lot of energy (VATA).

  • Sesame Oil

A "hot" oil according to Ayurvedic tradition. Very yang (masculine). Interesting when combined with other oils with a more yin temperament, like its allies in the synergy.

Organic Sesame oil brings tranquility, serenity, and harmony by balancing the 3 doshas: PITTA, VATA, and KAPHA.

  • Apricot Kernel Oil

The finest and most penetrating oil for body (and face) massage. In addition to its delicate and very light "almond paste" scent, it enhances skin radiance thanks to its richness in vitamin A and linoleic acid. Highly appreciated for all skin types and excellent for the face. Yin, feminine and soft.

Organic Apricot Kernel Oil will soothe the PITTA temperament, which is common in efficient and demanding individuals who are very organized in their daily lives and are characterized by often more reactive and irritated skin (redness).

Our advice:

To be used liberally in your massages. Oily base suitable for all skin types.

It is also well suited for post-shower care. You can then add your personal olfactory touch by incorporating a toning essential oil (Pine, Rosemary, Grapefruit) or a relaxing one (Marjoram, Mandarin, Petitgrain Clementine).
