Origins

The Cistus ladanifer is one of the first plants to have been distilled. A curious little flower that expresses the best of itself during intense heat, its organism produces a kind of sticky resin that covers its petals to protect them from dehydration. Collected by hand, the branches are distilled to obtain an essential oil with a scent that is repulsive to some (like a gasoline smell), and alluring to others (something like church incense). It's all a matter of taste!

Cistus plants have the particularity of growing back very quickly after fires: they are among the so-called pyrophilic plants. These regenerating properties are found in the essential oil of Cistus ladanifer: it is particularly valued for all skin care.

If you can't stand the sight of blood, you might want to keep a bottle of Cistus ladanifer essential oil in your pocket. It is indeed an excellent aid in case of bleeding thanks to its hemostatic properties.

Pro-aging, circulatory, and healing, it also works wonders on the skin, provided you know how to use it correctly. New mothers, its positive action on scars, chapped skin, or stretch marks will be of great help to you.
