Origins

Spike lavender grows in the garrigue scrublands of Southern Europe, on wild, calcareous soils at low altitudes. This late-flowering plant lives in the same habitats as the asp viper… Since antiquity, it has been used to treat snakebites. Spike lavender is an ingredient in Tiger Balm, and if you venture into the mountains, don't leave without it! It is much more soothing and effective than true lavender on stings and burns, but it is important to be aware of its contraindications.


Just been stung by a wasp? Don't panic! Spike lavender is here to provide quick relief. Also, remember it for sunburn or burns! Analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and healing, it will soothe the burning sensation on your skin.


It will also be very useful in cases of bronchitis and sinusitis, thanks to its expectorant and mucolytic properties. Inhaled or applied to the chest and soles of the feet, it will clear your respiratory system.
