Origins

A revered herb throughout the Mediterranean, thyme has been used since antiquity: the Greeks burned it in temples, public squares, and homes for purification, as did the Romans, who also used it for its cosmetic and aromatic properties. Thyme is incorporated into anti-aging balms, cheese preparations, and liqueurs. Among the Egyptians and Etruscans, it was used in the preparation of funerary ointments, likely due to its fragrance and antibacterial properties.

A symbol of courage in the language of flowers, it is a powerful support for your morale! Known to ward off the evil eye in folk tradition, "herba barona" can protect you from many troubles.

Like all thymes, sweet thyme is a mental tonic that promotes the flow of energy throughout the body. It boosts the immune system and deserves a place in the family aromatherapy collection. Thyme linalool essential oil, with its potency and versatility, is indicated for fighting all types of infections. Milder than its cousin thyme thymol, it can be used (always diluted) on sensitive individuals.

Whether in cooking, as an herbal tea or concentrated as an essential oil, thyme is a true aromatic marvel.
