Origins

Vetiver thrives in sunny locations and is sensitive to cold. It therefore grows in tropical latitudes where it develops deep roots. These roots can reach depths of 2 to 3 meters, helping to stabilize both the plant and the soil; this is why it is also used to combat erosion.

These same roots are distilled and have a persistent scent. The powerful, earthy, and woody olfactory notes that emerge are highly prized in perfumery.

Soothing and circulatory, vetiver essential oil stimulates arterial and venous circulation in the legs. It is also known for its skin-regenerating properties. It is effective in relieving itching associated with nervousness.
