BOTANY

An annual plant with midnight blue flowers tinged with mauve, it reseeds itself in spring. The cornflower is a wild flower, not very demanding, which likes well-drained soil.

Its starry flowers and lance-shaped leaves give it a very aesthetic graphic quality. Its scent is honeyed.

Properties and uses:

When used internally, the infusion of its flowers is known for its depurative and diuretic properties.

Mainly appreciated for external use, its hydrosol is used for the care of tired and swollen eyes and for mature and dull skin. As an eyewash, it can treat conjunctivitis and styes. Its oily macerate integrates well into cosmetic creams.
